Battle of Minds: Galle Division Chess Tournament

The Mayor Chess Club is organizing the "Battle of Minds" chess tournament for the Galle Division, open to various age groups from Under 06 to Under 14. The tournament will take place on April 27th (year unspecified in the poster). Winners and top performers will receive trophies, medals, and certificates. District level selections for an unspecified selected area will be based on this tournament, with different qualification criteria for all rated players and those with strong district-level performance. Registration is open until April 18th, 2025, with an entry fee of 1500/= LKR. The exact location will be notified later.

Mark your calendars for APRIL 27th! Get ready for a day of intense and engaging chess matches.

• Champion: Trophy + Gold Medal + Certificate
• 1st Runner Up: Trophy + Silver Medal + Certificate
• 2nd Runner Up: Trophy + Bronze Medal + Certificate
• 4th to 15th Place: Merit Medal + Merit Certificate
• Best School Performance Award:
  • Best Girls School
  • Best Boys School
  • Best Club

Furthermore, those who score more than 60% or 3/5 will receive a Merit Certificate, and all participants will receive a participation certificate.

DISTRICT LEVEL SELECTIONS

This tournament also serves as a platform for District Level Selections for an Unrated selected area. The qualification criteria are as follows:

• All Rated Players (Only Standard Rated): Direct Finals
• (Those who have scored more than 60% or 3/5 points in District Events qualified for the final)
