About the Event
The Sri Lanka National Major Division Chess Championships 2025 is a premier chess competition for selected players in the North Western Province. This event is open to players who have qualified from the National Novices Division Chess events or meet the ELO rating criteria (below 2000 for Open and 1700 for Women’s categories).
Participants will compete in a Swiss System format with 7 to 9 rounds, depending on the number of players. The top performers will earn trophies, medals, and certificates, with the winner being crowned the Major Champion of the region. Additionally, this event serves as a qualifier for the prestigious Sri Lanka National Premier Division Chess Championships.

To register, players must fill out the Google Form linked below. SMS entries will not be accepted. Ensure you complete your registration before the deadline to avoid late fees!
